Lá ionact a bhí ann in ainneoin na drochaimsire!!
Thug na scoláirí cuairt ar Eas Skógafoss sa Chladach Theas ar dtús. Bhog siad ar aghaidh ansin go Reynisfjara, trá an ghainimh dhuibh a bhfuil ardchlár basailt ann chomh maith. Rinneadh cuid den chlár ‘The Game of Thrones’ a thaifeadadh ann. Ar aghaidh leo ansin go dtí an teanga oighir Sólheimajökull atá thíos ó dheas ón oighearshurth Mýrdalsjökull. Ba é Eas Seljalandsfoss stad deiridh an turais. Shiúil na scoláirí taobh thiar den eas a chuir lena gcuid tuisceana i dtaobh foirmiú easa.
Tá siad ar an mbealach abhaile anois agus iad spíonta, ach spreagtha i leith na tíreolaíochta. Ba mhór an pléisiúr do na múinteoirí a bheith ar thuras scoile le dream a bhí chomh hiontach leis an dream seo.
Day 3 in Iceland: a great day was had despite the bad weather! The students first visited Skógafoss Waterfall in the South Shore. They then moved on to Reynisfjara, a sandy beach with a basalt plateau as well. Some of the program ‘The Game of Thrones’ was recorded there. They then continued to the Sólheimajökull glacial tongue which is below the Mýrdalsjökull glacier. The final stop of the tour was Seljalandsfoss Waterfall. The students walked behind the waterfall which helped their understanding of waterfall formation. They are now on their way home, exhausted, but inspired geographically. It was a great pleasure for the teachers to be on a school trip with a group who were as great as this one.
